Welcome to Mrs. Becker's sixth grade Science Lab. Mrs. Becker's lab offers a mini computer lab and her curriculum is centered around the Internet. Environmental issues will be the topic of study for the first few months. The students will prepare a Science board dealing with the environmental issue of their choice to be presented at the annual Science Fair. After completion of environmental issues, students will research specific scientific topics, design power point presentations, present their power point presentations to the entire class along with a hands-on project, and create worksheets to help each student prepare for the unit test.
Some of the exciting topics the sixth grade class will study this year are: earthquakes, volcanoes, planets, rainforests, systems of the body, rocks, minerals, and scientists. The new rainforest lesson plans are included in this website. Each unit that Mrs. Becker teaches follows a similar format.
